31 August 2011
Dear all,
The holidays are almost over and we hope you all had a happy summer and enough time to rest and prepare for a new working year. This school year is particularly exciting for us since the ISST is opening its doors for the first time. Before the summer we were proud to have two pupils but in the mean time three more children have registered. We have more meetings with parents planned, so hopefully the number of pupils will increase again quite soon.
On Tuesday 6 September at 9 o’clock we expect our pupils and their families on the first floor A1. One of the teachers will be in the hall of the school to show you the way. We will have an informal meeting with the head of school, teachers and the other pupils. There will be an information evening later where we will present the content of our education programme and our plans to you.
At 10 o’clock we say goodbye to the families and start our introduction programme with the pupils. The content is still largely a surprise but it will include getting to know each other and the school and the pupils will be asked to contribute to the decoration of the department. The teachers will explain their subjects and what the pupils may expect from them. The programme will be spread over several days. On Tuesday we will work until around lunch time so we will tell you more then!
The opening of the international school is a great challenge and with your help we are confident we can make it a success! We are looking forward to meeting you all on Tuesday.
On behalf of the head of school and the teaching staff of ISST,
kind regards,
Els Weir
Head of department
